I want you to know that you are not alone. Your story is unique, but it is not an untold story. We all have struggles, pains, losses and challenges. They just show up with a different voice and style of writing. The characters are different, but the story sounds so familiar. You are not alone.
There are moments for me where it is difficult to show my weaknesses and admit that I have not always been the Contagiously Positive Girl. But the strength in that honesty comes where you hear me say, “me too. Me too I’ve gone through something similar. Me too I’ve had struggles, pains and losses. Me too I don’t always want to be positive. Me too there are moments when I just want to stay in bed all day, binge watching Grey’s Anatomy and just let the day go by without my presence.” You are not alone.
These two little words, me too, are so incredibly powerful. You hear someone say it and you no longer feel alone. It connects us as women and it connects us as human beings. We no longer feel disconnected from ourselves, and from the world. We know that we are supported, and we feel a strength that was not there before…I am not alone.
Me too makes us feel strong enough to make a choice to leave the darkness and come back home to the light. I can quickly be turned around back into the darkness, but I make a choice to be the light and come back to my true self once I have felt what I needed to feel, and healed what needed to be healed. I am able to do that because I know that I am not on this life journey by myself. I am not alone. You are not alone. I just don’t think there is any other way to live life than to choose happiness, joy, and most importantly, LOVE.
