Whenever I feel stuck, I immediately reach for my journal. I’m a big believer that if you ask for clarity on something, the universe will provide you with the answer you are searching for. The trick is to listen and be open to the answers. Don’t look for the answers that you think you want, be open to seeing the answers that you need. So often we ignore what is right in front of us because it doesn’t look anything like what we planned, expected, or wanted. There is a saying, “when we plan, God laughs.” When we are trying to force something, we are actually creating a block, which makes us feel stuck, because we are not allowing it to flow naturally and with ease.
If you want to practice a new tool, and whenever you need clarity on something, you can try my own personal tool.
Find a quiet space and get a pen and notebook. It doesn’t have to be a formal journal; scrap paper will do just fine.
Start writing your worries, your questions, your concerns, your challenges, your problems, your goals, your desires, your wants… just write and write and write. Don’t edit! Just let the words flow and start to connect with what’s really going on inside. Become aware of any thoughts that pop into your head that you weren’t aware of before. Write them down. What do they mean to you?
After you’ve finished writing, reflect on everything. Is there anything new you’ve realized from doing this exercise? Do you know what’s making you feel stuck? Do you have more clarity about what you need to do? What is your gut telling you? What is the feeling you are getting on what you need to do? Your gut feelings are the little universal messages. Don’t ignore those nudges.
Throughout the day, be aware of little message. These can come in the form of people, signs, books, a phone call, a random (not-so-random) meeting with someone, or even an article in a magazine. Sometimes, I will do this exercise, and later that day I will see something on Facebook that is exactly what I needed to see, or get a call from someone who tells me exactly what I needed to hear.
The more you practice this, the quicker the answers will appear. It is truly amazing. I’ll never forget the first time I asked the universe for help and was guided to an answer. You can listen the audio of that story below.
Be patient, it may take a moment to load.
Clarity is right in front of you. Look neither right, nor left, but straight ahead with your eyes wide opened. Walking through life with clarity and with ease is one of the best ways to becoming Contagiously Positive.
“An arrow can only be shot by pulling backward, so when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great, so just focus, and keep aiming.”
Sending you oodles of positivity, happiness & joy,
